Charging Stations

While we have plenty of power outlets throughout the library, we often have students asking us for a charging cable to borrow or to “keep an eye” on their phones while they charge. We wanted to offer students a secure way for them to charge their phones. Through a VVC Foundation campus grant, the library was able to purchase a cell phone charging locker that provides a convenient and secure way for students to charge their device. Plus the charging service is free. A campus grant only covers up to $2500 but fortunately we found a product that was just under that amount. The unit came with digital signage. We can easily change signage to display library information and to promote events. Since installing the cell-phone charging station, students have shared a great deal of positive feedback.
