• Ellen Carey and Elizabeth Bowman have been invited to share their poster: My Library: Demonstrating Library Value While Building Confident Developmental English Library Users as part of the program for the 2016 CARL Conference, What We Talk About When We Talk About Value.  The conference will be held March 31 - April 2, 2016 in Costa Mesa at Westin South Park Plaza. Poster sessions will take place between 5:30-7pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016 during the opening reception.  T

• This spring we plan to survey students with TATIL, the THRESHOLD ACHIEVEMENT Test for Information Literacy <https://thresholdachievement.com>.  We will have free access as part of piloting the test.  Contact Ellen Carey @ eecarey@pipeline.sbcc.edu for more information

• We are also piloting the use of OCLC's GreenGlass <http://www.oclc.org/sustainable-collections.en.html> to analyze our collection (associated with a big weeding project). contact Sally Chuah @ sschuach@pipeline.sbcc.edu for more information.

• We are so invaluably aided by the addition of PT Library Resident (funded by our Friends of the Library), a recent MLS/MLIS graduate who works with us for a year, rotating through all of the library's operations <http://library.sbcc.edu/blog/2011/01/25/residency-at-luria-library>.

• We are in the process of drafting a Disaster Response and Recovery plan, in a workshop with other regional institutions, funded by California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and conducted by California Preservation Program for Napa, Riverside, and Santa Barbara Counties/California Heritage Protection Project Survey of Cultural and Historic Resources (CHR).

• Our Outreach Librarian (adjunct librarian) funded by Equity funds this year will work closely with faculty and staff in outreach and teaching efforts related to equity issues to serve these target populations: Low income, Hispanic, Foster Youth, African-Americans
