The San Jose State University School of Information (iSchool) is proud to offer professional development opportunities like the Library 2.0 Worldwide Virtual Conference series as part of our lifelong learning solutions. The next Library 2.016 mini-conference will take place on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. U.S. Pacific Daylight Time (click here for your time zone) via Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing.
Moderated by Dr. Michael Stephens, iSchool assistant professor, the June conference will open with a panel discussion on "Defining the Library as Classroom." For example, this classroom may include physical spaces for instruction and discovery, as well as online, multi-scale platforms aimed at social learning and participation. We invite you to share your ideas and experiences for using the library as a creative classroom and community learning space by submitting a presentation proposal. Presentations should be at least 15 minutes in length, and all sessions must be completed (including Q&A) within 25 minutes. Slots are limited, and may fill before the May 31, 2016 deadline for proposals.
The Library 2.0 Worldwide Virtual Conference series was co-founded in 2011 by the iSchool. The June “Library as Classroom” event is the second of three mini-conferences planned for this year.
