LSP Winter Newsletter
By Trevor Passage, LSP Program Manager, Library Consortium
Introduction
Hello all,
Welcome to another installment of the LSP Newsletter! It is bittersweet, as this will be the last newsletter I pen you all as your LSP Program Manager. It has been a wonderful experience, and I really appreciate the opportunity to work with you all. Take care, and hopefully talk again sometime in the future. Without further ado, the newsletter.
Governance Committee Updates
The Governance Committee met on November 15th, 2024. Some of the discussion included setting our goals for the academic year, reviewing the DEIAA statement, and reports from our eight Work Groups. The Governance Committee advises and guides our shared stakeholders in the deployment and management of the LSP. You can see the full roster of members, read the LSP policies, and review past meeting minutes at the Governance Committee LibGuide.
CERV Process
The New ELUNA Enhancement Process is underway–previously known as NERS, it is now Community Enhancement Request and Voting Process (CERV). The Alma and Primo products are currently in the first phase of the process, where member institutions can put in ideas for different enhancements they would like to see implemented into the product. Unlike the idea exchange, Ex Libris is contractually obligated to implement the top CERV enhancements, so it is extremely important that each institution (thanks to CCL, all of us our ELUNA members) take advantage and vote in the CERV Process. Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements via the ListServs around CERV.
Work Group Membership
It is a little early, but is it ever really too early to start thinking about serving on a Work Group next academic year? The official call will go out sometime in February/March, but I implore you–if you have some bandwidth or need to meet your contractual obligations for either professional development or college service–I highly recommend joining one of the eight active Work Groups: Analytics; Cataloging; Circulation; Discovery/User Experience; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Anti-Racism, & Accessibility; Electronic Resources Management; Instruction; or Systems. It is a rewarding experience, and you just might learn some new tricks in Alma or Primo.
