Dear Colleagues, 

We are excited to announce the publication release of, Building Our Own: Critiques, Narratives, and Practices by Community College Library Workers of Color.

Building Our Own is part of the Series of Critical Race Studies and Multiculturalism in LIS with Litwin Books and Library Juice Press under the series editors, Rose L. Chou and Annie Pho. Written and edited by community college library workers throughout the U.S.A., Building Our Own, provides perspectives in the form of critiques, reflections, narratives, frameworks, and pedagogies from a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) lens. Editors, Amanda M. Leftwich and Eva M.L. Ríos-Alvarado are community college librarians and have contributed inspirational chapters to the new publication. Building Our Own authors share the realities of BIPOC library workers’ contributions, critical insights, and lived experiences in the community college setting.
