Los Angeles Valley College
Dora Esten assumed the duties as department chair on July 15, 2013. She has been at Los Angeles Valley College since August 1995, as a cataloging and reference librarian. Before coming to Valley, she was a catalog librarian at the Huntington Library in San Marino, and a reference and audio-visual librarian for the Los Angeles County Library system. She is a native of Washington, D.C. and grew up in that area. She has a B.A. in History from Boston University, a Master’s degree in Library Science from the Catholic University of America, and a Master of Philosophy degree in American Civilization from the George Washington University. She also has a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Position available: our library is currently looking for a librarian to provide bibliographic instruction and reference. Up-to-date competency with current library technology is highly desired.
