It’s exciting! We have finally moved in to our beautiful new Library. Library staff and librarians are ready to serve the campus community in this well-designed architectural centerpiece of the LATTC campus.
Exterior blends into the campus.
We don’t have an exact count but can report that during the first week of the fall semester the Library was overflowing with students using the computer lab, checking with the circulation desk to locate textbooks, and using group study rooms. The spacious, open plan of the Library, located in multi-purpose Mariposa Hall allows for simultaneous events. During the first two weeks of the semester, students were able to schedule meetings with counselors in one area while usual Library activities were ongoing.
A comfortable space to study.
Our first Library event sponsored by the English Department’s Literature club is “Literary Censorship: An American Epidemic” in conjunction with a creative writing competition. Competition winners will present their submissions in a reading to be held at the Library before the semester ends.
