A well-crafted content strategy ensures that users can find relevant and easily understandable information—and it helps you avoid broken links, outdated references, and jargon-filled pages that patrons don’t find useful.
     
  • Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 12p - Citizen Science Empowers Environmental Understanding through Libraries, Community-Based Organizations, and More (webinar), Network of National Library of Medicine: Discuss the positive impacts of citizen science on human and environmental health, and how everyone and anyone can get involved.
     
  • Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 11a - Level Up Your Advocacy Tools (webinar), ACRL: ACRL's Value of Academic Libraries and New Roles and Changing Landscapes goal-area committees are joining forces again to host the second in their series of Trend Talks. Panelists will share their success stories of advocacy in the areas of collections, instruction, and space.
     
  • Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 11a - Scarcity or Thriving? Ten Surprising Signs that Your Workplace is an “Abundance Magnet” (webinar), AESRL: An Abundance mindset is the blueprint on how to go from normalizing burnout and distrust to accomplishing goals and being recognized for all your hard work! In this presentation, we’ll unveil the top 10 surprising signs that your organization is moving towards a value communication powerhouse. 

Courses

  • April 1-May 13, 2024 - Reference Interview 101, RUSA: Comprehensive six-week course, tailored for support staff, library technicians, newly hired reference librarians, and those librarians who want to brush up on their interview skills. The topics covered are introductory in nature. Class segments are geared to cover issues of interest to staff in all types of libraries.
     
  • June 10-August 18, 2024 - Creative Commons Certificate for Academic Librarians, Creative Commons: The CC Certificate is a rigorous 10-week online course, which requires an average of 6-10 hours of work per week.  While this course is mostly asynchronous, you will have graded materials due every week and a minimum of four optional webinars. You will have direct contact with an expert facilitator,, the chance to ask questions to copyright lawyers in our Q&A discussions, and you will connect with our global community members of activists, and experts. The CC Certificate powers you with knowledge to better advise your colleagues and institutions on creating and engaging with openly licensed works. You will learn how to adapt and innovate on existing openly licensed materials–keeping your institution’s knowledge base relevant and up to date. You will also learn how to best support learners accessing a wider array of open knowledge resources.

  • Community College Librarians as AI Leaders on Campus (survey), ALA 2024 ALA/ACRL-CJCLS Program Committee: Input is requested to gain insights into the evolving needs, challenges, and innovations prompted by AI technologies specifically in community and junior college libraries. Identifying information will be removed to maintain confidentiality.
